More helpful than praying might be using less plastic and stop polluting the oceans.

Hi Sandy Ao - delighted to meet another rocky :D

ooh, YA, your greenstone is beautiful! have you investigated which type of pounamu it is and, thus, its place of birth? From one angle it looks like a sleeping bird, on the other i see the little dolphin face :)
while investigating your orange chap, i came upon this - if you scroll to the pic of a bag of salt, you'll see they named a mine after you! How many rocks did you pick up??
the little monk stone <3. Of the three, though there is no competition bw them, has won my heart. it's art, a tiny sculpture. does it have a story to tell or is it content to just be?
thankyou so much for showing these!
and ai ai what are we doing to the sea? climate change, whatever the cause is happening. i wish we'd stop quibbling and get to work fixing our mess . such a moan! haha we are getting to work- scientists in particular (those evil people we're supposed to not trust now) are very keen on fixing the mess, being the ones who brought it to our attention n all :) hang in there little (and huge) sea creatures, we can do this!

Overwhelm with their beauty and your yew stand.. @Y A... @Clarice I am just a crazy one collecting rocks and pebbles with out any actually inkling of their kinds.
I must say my fond of picking stones comes from my mother...
When we were young, every year after the Chinese new year, she'd go on pilgrimage to - especially- Bodhgaya. She would bring home some strange looking black rocks and tell us, "These are meteorite rocks..." In the passage of our growing up, we never bother to learn more about them.. and lost all these rocks .
I am not sure if they were really Meteorite rocks... But who cares...
Now every time when I see a shooting star , I remember my mother dearly....
I am still hoping one day I can pick up a meteorite rock...!!
    .

@Clarice... once I saw the road makers laying stones for a new road... lots of sparkles among in the stones.. they are hard rocks with crystals!!
I bent down and started picking them... the guys were very upset... "you are making craters , delaying our work !!"
I walked back that road after a decade.. with the tar and the dust, no one can imaging beneath, there are some rocks which are embedded with crystals ...!!
will share some pictures of these rocks, and pictures of the road that has crystals on it...

@Clarice Boomshakalaka Bouvier, no, do not know where the greenstone comes from; Donna McArtney, widow of David McArtney, gave it to me because, teh YA has a special relation not only to straaya but to kiwiland too (not because of his love affairs, was sitting in me kitchen together with Asbjörn 1979 in Vienna, spread out over a world map, and we already planned how to drive through all asia down to hongkong wid me lovely Volvo Amazon, sell da can and hop on a banana freighter ova to kiwiland :D)
btw, Donna did not move to Switzerland but to London - she runs a jewelery store there; ya, da lady on da main page is Moana - where both her children are now. Moana is my godchild, I held that little thing in my arms when baptized... love her so, a tres tres speciale being she is ♥

p.s.: if me sphynxxx of it will ask her where she got dat greenstone from :D

@Sandy Ao 黄明珠, your mother must have been a wonderful woman, bringing home meteore rocks! YEA!
once had a little peace fallen down from heaven, had gorgeous Widmanstätten patterns on it, gave it to another rock loving friend who now sits in N.IReland...

it's just so good you joined us here on D* and share all your precious and very beautiful photos of leaves and stones... so, let me just hug you ♥

p.s.: off to Andrea soon, spend Sundays with her (she's my great darling) but, have to return to keep my flat warm heating my wood oven...

@Clarice Boomshakalaka Bouvier, those salt mines look great, yea. could be that the orange stone has to do with it. really do not know but, don't matter :D

ha, now, looking at them 3 stones on the site I suddenly remembered where the orange stone is from. Renée, Fréd, Andrea et moi went to the beach, and all four of us got lost in all directions heading for stones on that calm beach near Perpignan... the monk stone's from there too...

btw, for you as a stonelover you'll understand that I put Norwegian Arctic Black granite as the floor in my 32m² exhibition room (with floor heating), which is not used any more, in winter it is freezing in there..

@Sandy Ao what a wonderful story - i look forward to seeing the pics. It makes me smile to think of the glittering road, covered in tar and nobody but a few know that it's there.

@Y A i met Donna, here on D*. She showed me some wonderful jewels made of turquoise - not the uninspiring turquoise i'd seen (which is probably made from plaster), this was such a stone! But not half as special as your greenstone - it has a beautiful story; thankyou for sharing it <3
deeelighted glee ensues as such memories come to the fore! "not all who wander are lost..not all who wander..we're so lost" hahaha hugest hugs
and oyg what a floor!! someone bring me my fainting chair...beeyootiful!

@Clarice Boomshakalaka Bouvier, maybe there was a misunderstanding with Donna. I think you are talking about another Donna. I can't imagine Donna Mills being on D*. Did you visit he jewelery shop in London ?

would never again have a dark floor in connection with a craft (cept chimneysweepers)... imagine da cleaning, I went mad with it haha ♥

ahh this could well be so - just a series of coincidental connections. Huh! :D
oh, i did the same in the rats nest i call a lounge room, thinking a dark colour wont show mess. The exact opposite! hahaha i have never tended to carpet so much in my life...
